Dear Food Services Director and Staff,
My husband, Jim, and I would like to thank you for being so kind in accommodating the menu selections of his mother, Catherine (98), who was a resident in Room 615 for the past eight weeks. We especially want to thank you for honoring her request for creamed soups for breakfast. We were very pleased with the wonderful menu selections at Bethany Terrace and think serving the entrée on a heated holder is thoughtful and nice.
Warmly, Joan Z.

Dear Staff, Residents and Families,
Words will never begin to express how our family feels about the care, love and dignity that was shown to our mother, Irene as well as how you cared for all of us as we shared her journey. Three years ago when we moved Mom to Bethany, it took only hours to know that we had made the right choice for her. We want to THANK each and every one of you, for you are ALL very special people with very special talents that convey daily the mission statement, “Called to Care”. God Bless all as you continue your ministry to others.
With love,
The Irene B. Family
Dear Mila, Jeanette, Merci, Becky, Genessa and Chaplain Sunny,
My family appreciated the support that was given for our Passover dinner. By bringing balloons and Passover signs, it enhanced our evening. It was festive and showed wonderful teamwork.
Sincerely,
E. Rosenblatt

Dear Chris,
While I have been recuperating at home from my hip replacement surgery, I’ve had some time to reflect on my stay at The Bethany Terrace from May 18th through May 25th. All the people at Bethany made what could have been a difficult week, a most enjoyable one for me. From the beginning, you and your staff made my transition in and out of the facility easy and painless. I thank you for that.
The new rehab wing is beautiful and comfortable, which aided in my emotional healing. The availability of the dining room, the garden, the new TV’s and movies all made my stay more pleasant. Allowing me to have my two dogs visit was indeed a special highlight for me, and hopefully for a few other patients as well. The nursing staff and the CNA staff were all cheerful and willing to help in any way. I’d list them by name, but there were so many, and I wouldn’t want to leave anyone out. They were all wonderful.
Perhaps most outstanding was the physical therapy portion of my stay. Darek and his crew are first rate. They really got me up and moving. Without their physical and emotional support, I’m certain I wouldn’t be healing as quickly as I am. I only wish I could return to work with Darek for my outpatient therapy. He is excellent at what he does.
I’ll be happy to recommend Bethany Terrace to anyone who is looking for a rehab facility. Thank you all for a most enjoyable and healing week.
Sincerely,
N. Abramovitz

To The Entire Staff Of Bethany Terrace:
I would like to extend my gratitude to all personnel for the care and support given to my wife Tobie Simon while she was a resident there. The friendliness of everyone from the area caretakers to the floor maintenance people was remarkable. All were able to earn a smile for Toby whenever they entered her room. My special thanks to Jeannie, her roommate, who looked after her and provided comfort. Tobie passed away on March 19, 2005 at 6:00 A.M.
Sincerely,
Julius Simon (husband)

Mr. Kolich:
I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone at Bethany for taking care of my mother, Dianne Grubaugh in the last years of her life.
Placing a parent in a nursing home is a very difficult and emotional decision, but ultimately a necessity for many, as it was for us. My role changed from daughter, to caretaker, to being a mother for my mother; and at times it felt as though I was leaving a child behind in your care. It was a difficult time in my life to be caring for a parent while still raising children and trying to get to work and take care of a home, all at the same time; and I could not have done it without the help and support of those I came to know at Bethany.
I want to thank those who made her more comfortable, who took the time to smile and say "hello Dianne" which always made her smile in return. Thank you to those who fed her, and provided the care she could no longer do for herself. But mostly, thank you all for caring; for doing a difficult job I could no longer handle on my own. I'm glad to have known you all, and truly appreciate the jobs you do. Thanks to all of you, I sat and talked with; it made it easier to endure the devastation of Alzheimer's, and the pain of seeing her decline.
Thank you all for your time, your dedication, and for helping to make my mother's final years dignified and comfortable.
Sincerely,
R. Abens

Ladies and/or Gentlemen:
I wish to point out an individual who far exceeds normal expectations of her job. Her name is Barbara, a soft-spoken lady from the Caribbean, who is a caregiver and works the day shift in Lindgren.
Obviously, she takes good care of my mother, Margaret Pomperger, but what sets her apart from other care givers, is that she goes that extra mile for ALL residents. She treats every one with love and understanding, as if they were her own mother (or father). If she sees that another caregiver has failed to fill the needs of one of their assigned people, Barbara will get up and do whatever it takes to fill that need ... and I do mean anything. She will then, in a very pleasant tone of voice and with a big smile, tell that employee what the resident likes or dislikes and how best to handle this issue.
I can walk in any day and know exactly what residents are assigned to Barbara simply by how much care was given to attire and makeup. I don't know if you still have Employee of the Month, but if you do, I strongly suggest that Barbara should receive that award along with either a bonus or a salary increase.
Employees like Barbara are one in a million, don't ever lose her. You cannot buy that kind of commitment or dedication.
Sincerely,
Beverly T
To the Staff on Homier Lane,
I want to thank all of you at Bethany for the loving care you gave my mother, Gertrude Ostertag. I feel like I know so many of you from talking with you on the telephone. I am so sorry I live so far away and couldn't visit with my mother very often. But, the Lord was good to me, because I had the blessed assurance that you liked mother and took the best possible care of her.
So many of you - Kim, Beverly, Michelle, Shirley (when she was there) and Mary Ann O'Brien - were so very supportive and helpful to mother and to me. While you cared for her, you helped ease my worry and put up with my fears. I do appreciate that.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.

Dear Mr. Kolich:
I like would like to thank you for the good care your staff provided for my mom Barbara Kahles.
Mom has spent 4 years with her Bethany family. She was very happy with the loving and tender care she received from "your staff." I would like to thank everyone, who made my moms' stay pleasant, "the whole staff"
My special thanks do go out to some special people who always were there who helped and encourage mom, like Pam. Sunny always brought sunshine to the people around her. The love for her residents is outstanding. She always plans to make her residents special. The beautiful parties, which all residents and family members enjoyed.
My moms' 92nd birthday will stay a beautiful memory. On "New Years Day", they made special arrangements to be there and celebrate with us. She had really done a beautiful job decorating and getting everyone together.
Rose surprised us with her piano playing of "Happy Birthday" and few other songs, which everyone loved.
Thanks again to all of you,
Sincerely,
A. Sattelmayer

Dear Mr. Randle:
Thank you for the six years of excellent care that was bestowed upon Edward Martin at Bethany Terrrace.
From the cheerful thoughtful attention of Diane to every helpful staff member, "Called to care" is reflected every day. I especially want to thank and praise everyone in Homier Wallenius starting with Beverly and Michele. MaryAnn O'Brien and Kathy Curran were always available with help and advice. The Support Group is a valuable asset and well handled. I have great praise for Rev. Song and my dear new mentor
Rev. Mary Jane. Words cannot express the gratitude for all the support received during this long journey. In appreciation for everything, may God continue to bless the Bethany family.
Sincerely,
Lois C. Martin
